Joy Ann Philip is a distinguished educator whose career, enriched by decades of teaching experience, reflects her unwavering dedication to the field of education. Her extensive research and collaborations with educators worldwide have equipped her with a profound understanding of diverse educational landscapes. Joy Ann’s explorations across India have notably enhanced her insights into the myriad conditions shaping children’s upbringing, fueling her commitment to cater to their holistic development.

Recognizing the pivotal role of early childhood in brain development, particularly within the critical age range of 3-6 years, Joy Ann has been instrumental in crafting a curriculum aimed at nurturing the comprehensive growth of Indian children. As the Chief Consultant for the Siadant Foundation, she is at the forefront of envisioning and guiding the organization’s mission. With her leadership Joy Ann actively drives Siadant’s community initiatives.

Joy Ann’s rich background as an experienced kindergarten teacher enables her to lead with empathy and expertise, making her an invaluable mentor to educators. By inspiring and empowering teachers, she plays a pivotal role in shaping future generations. For Joy Ann, education transcends mere profession—it is a calling.

Philip John

Seasoned executive with over 50 years of leadership across tea, technology, education, and nonprofit sectors. Held senior roles in India’s leading tea auction houses before transitioning to tech and educational governance. Former Chairman of Stanes High School, Coonoor, with extensive experience in nonprofit strategy and community development.

Served as Director of Gislen Software (Swedish IT firm) and Managing Director of Webstix Design, a company offering web services to US clients.

Priyanka George

Priyanka holds a Master’s degree in Child Development and has undertaken specialized training in Special Education, Play Therapy, and Child Protection & Safety. With over a decade of experience in preschool education, she has developed innovative, activity-based curricula that are rooted in research yet practical for classrooms. Priyanka has also worked as a preschool teacher in Wales, gaining valuable cross-cultural insights into early learning.

She has conducted seminars on child safety and well-being, and has been part of international conferences on education and social impact. Her passion is to see every child—regardless of background—experience the joy of learning and grow in creativity, confidence, and character.

Arun Philip

Arun Philip has a corporate background in technical sales, marketing, product development, and corporate communications, demonstrating a foundation in business and technology. His event management experience highlights organizational abilities. Beyond his corporate roles, Arun’s leadership within the community as a leader, counsellor, mentor, and coach showcases his commitment to supporting and guiding others.

With extensive international and domestic travel, including engagement with urban and rural communities, Arun possesses a broad understanding of diverse cultural and community dynamics. His involvement in community outreach activities and human resource training and development underscores his dedication to making a positive impact beyond the corporate realm.

Registration and Legal Status

Siadant Foundation is registered with the Government of India, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, as a Section 8 company. This legal framework allows Siadant Foundation to operate as a ‘profit for purpose’ company. No profit will be distributed to the company’s promoters.

Tax Exemptions and Certifications

The Income Tax Department has granted the foundation 12A and 80G certifications. The 12A certification allows the foundation to receive a tax exemption on its surplus income, making it more financially sustainable. The 80G certification enables Indian donors to claim deductions on their donations, thus encouraging more philanthropy from individuals and businesses.
